Piers Morgan: The NRA Is a Bully
During the final airing of Piers Morgan Live – a March 28th adieu to a show Morgan himself admitted had "taken a bath in the ratings" because of his frequent gun control rants – the Brit looked into the camera one last time to call the NRA a bully.
According to the Orlando Sentinel Morgan said, "The gun lobby in America, led by the NRA, have bullied this nation's politicians into cowardice by silence."
That is a strange accusation coming from a man who regularly bullied members of "the gun lobby" who did not agree with his gun control agenda. His treatment of Gun Owners of America's Larry Pratt stands out; he had Pratt on as a guest in the days after the heinous crime at Sandy Hook Elementary and called Pratt an "idiot" and "a dangerous man espousing dangerous nonsense."
When Pratt smiled and said, "Thank you for your high-level argument Mr. Morgan," Piers shot back derisively, "You wouldn't understand the meaning of the phrase 'high level argument.'"
Likewise, when the NRA's Wayne LaPierre pointed out that Morgan pounds the message of gun control "over and over and again," Morgan responded, "That's right Mr. LaPierre. And I'll continue to pound that message, and I'll continue to show shocking footage [of the misuse of guns]... until people like you realize the damage that guns are doing to Americans every day."
Yet Morgan wants us to believe "the gun lobby in America, led by the NRA" is the real bully?
