Harry Reid: MSNBC Host Joy Reid 'Tells It Like It Is'
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) seems to feel the need to shill for left-wing cable news network MSNBC. The network is usually recognized as the least popular of the big three cable news networks, often earning the lowest ratings of the three.
In his quest to destroy the legal right of center-right donors to advocate for political causes, Reid deployed his Twitter account to shill for MSNBC's Joy Reid, host of the network's The Reid Report.
"Watch @JoyAnnReid discuss the Koch Brothers. She tells it like it is," Sen. Reid tweeted on April 4.
Over the last few years MSNBC has seen better ratings here and there than second-place CNN, but as 2013 ended, MSNBC fell to third place in daytime viewers.
Long-term prospects seem on a downward trend, too. In November, for instance, MSNBC lost 45 percent of its viewers. Often the network's ratings in the important 25-54 age bracket have also been dismal.
MSNBC's revenue earnings are also in last place. As revenue fell 2% for the left-wing cable network in 2013, total earnings were less than half what CNN earned and far, far below Fox News's revenue.
So Reid is shilling for a network that very few Americans – left, center, or right-leaning – are much interested in watching.
