Taliban insurgents claimed a suicide attack in the Afghan capital Kabul Wednesday, shortly after US President Barack Obama left the city after an overnight visit.

"Today a devoted mujahid carried out a suicide car bomb attack on a foreign military base in Kabul, followed by other devoted mujahids (holy warriors) entering the base," a Taliban spokesman said in a text message to AFP.
