Iran Pleased with Sen. Paul's Less Aggressive Approach

Iran’s Press TV has written positively of Senator Rand Paul’s (R-KY) Jan. 26 speech in which he said that if Republicans will restrain what seems at times to be an eagerness for war, they will find more voters supporting the party.

Obviously, Iran is pleased, seeing this as an indicator that Paul might be more prone to pursue Iran via diplomatic measures than military strikes.

Paul made it clear that he does not intend to send a pacifist message; he simply said the use of force and the talk of the use of force needs to be reserved for “when our national interests [are] impacted or a vital interest of ours [is].”

Paul said he believes we need “a strong defense,” but “a little bit less aggressive defense around the world.”
