U.N. Human Rights Council Passes Five More Resolutions Against Israel

On March 22, the UN Human Rights Council passed five new resolutions critical of Israel.

The resolutions were backed by Arab members of the council, and received an affirmative vote from every member in the 47-nation council except the U.S.

These resolutions were critical of "construction of settlements on territory claimed by the Palestinians" and for abuses Israel "allegedly perpetrated against civilians."

Israel did not bother taking part in the March 22 council meeting, as that body has been biased against Israel for some time.

The U.S. voted against each of the resolutions. And U.S. Envoy Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe said the U.S. is "deeply troubled by [the] council's biased and disproportionate focus on Israel."
