Muslim Youth in Nigeria Attack School, Burn Church over Test Question

On March 31st Muslim youth, angered over an “examination question,” set fire to a Catholic church and attacked a school in Katsina state in northern Nigeria.

The Associated Press reports that many in the town were outraged over the “examination question” which they considered “an insult to the Prophet Muhammad.” The matter was “reported to district authorities,” who took no action.

After the district authorities did nothing, the youth took the matter into their own hands.

Witnesses say the youth were stopped from burning the school by soldiers who showed up once the St. Rita Catholic Church had already been set ablaze.
