Representative Hunter Drafts Bill to Authorize Killing Benghazi Terrorists

Representative Duncan Hunter (R-CA) is drafting a bill that will "authorize the military and intelligence operatives to kill the terrorists" that attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on September 11, 2012.

He plans to propose the bill on May 7.

According to The Washington Times, Hunter's bill "would give the Obama administration the same kill authority it now has to go after members of Al Qaeda."

It comes after Joint Chiefs Chairman General Martin E. Dempsey told lawmakers that he "does not have legal power to strike the Benghazi perpetrators."

The "legal justification [to strike Al Qaeda] is contained in the Authorization of Use of Military Force (AUMF) legislation." Hunter's legislation is aimed at amending the budget bill to "authorize the use of force against terrorists and locations associated with the Benghazi attacks."
