Italian Serial Killer: Photo of Latest Crucified Victim Released

A photo of a murdered prostitute who was “stripped naked and crucified” under a bridge near Florence Italy has been released. The victim is Andrea Cristina Zamfir, 26, was “bound with tape to an iron bar in a position similar to crucifixion.”

Zamfir was a Romanian immigrant. Italian police suspect she was a victim of a serial killer akin to the Monster of Florence, who murdered 16 people 30 years ago. “Ms Zamfir was found by a cyclist beneath a motorway flyover at the end of Via del Cimitero after they spotted her body taped by the wrists to a road barrier, with her head slumped back.”

Another victim, a 46 year old Italian prostitute  was found alive in the same place a year ago. The woman had suffered severe injuries and was hospitalized for more than three weeks.

‘For now all we can assume is that we are dealing with a case of a client who killed a prostitute. Our investigations will also determine if there is any connection between this death and the case that happened a year ago, when a prostitute was found by a client in a similar position. Fortunately, she was still alive,’ said one of the investigators.

Other incidents also suggest murder is the work of a serial killer. “There have also been four other incidents in the same area since 2006 involving both immigrants and prostitutes and four more attacks in the nearby city of Prato. The victims described their attacker as aged between 50 and 60, of stocky build and with thinning hair.”
