Thousands Flee Northern Gaza After Israel Drops Pamphlets Warning Civilians to Get Out

Palestinians began flooding into UN refuge facilities after Israel dropped pamphlets in northern Gaza warning civilians to get away from military targets.

About 17,000 Palestinians have sought shelter since Israel began striking back one week ago.

According to BBC News, Gaza officials claim “at least 172 Palestinians have been killed” by the Israeli strikes. The UN estimates “77% of the people killed in Gaza have been civilians.”

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are countering these claims and have released strike videos to show how and what they are targeting. They say their targets are “Hamas militants and ‘terror sites,’ including the homes of senior operatives.”

IDF also says “Gaza militants… fired 130 rockets into Israel on [July 13]” alone.

The UN Security Council has issued calls for a cease fire and a return to more comprehensive peace proceedings.
