Report: Comprehensive Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Agreement Reached

Tel Aviv– Israel and Hamas have struck a long-term ceasefire agreement through Egyptian intermediaries that is set to begin at 6:00 a.m. local time Friday. An Israeli official reportedly released the terms of the agreement to the BBC.

Agence France Presse confirmed with an Israeli official that the ceasefire is indeed set to begin Friday, and that Hamas has also agreed to the terms.

Additionally, an Israeli official told Reuters that Jerusalem’s security cabinet has accepted the terms of the ceasefire. CBS News has also confirmed with an Israeli official that both parties have accepted the agreement.

Israeli, Hamas, and Egyptian officials have so far refused to publicly confirm that an agreement has been reached.

Israel and Hamas had agreed to a truce between 10am-3pm Thursday to allow for humanitarian workers to come into Gaza. However, Hamas violated their agreement when at midday, rockets were fired from Gaza into the Eshkol area of Israel.
