Dutch Security Official: Islamic State Is a 'Plan by Zionists' to 'Blacken Islam's name'

Yasmina Haifa, a senior member of the Dutch Justice Ministry and project leader at the Ministry’s National Cyber Security Center, said on Twitter that the Islamic State terror group is simply a “Zionist” creation, and not part of Islam.

“ISIS has nothing to do with Islam. It’s part of a plan by Zionists who are deliberately trying to blacken Islam’s name,” wrote Haifi on Twitter.

In an interview with Dutch station Radio 1 Wednesday, she remained true to her comments, angrily stating, “Freedom of expression is apparently only for certain groups.” She continued, “I have taken the liberty to express myself, and obviously I have to pay for it. I do not know why I should take it down; this is what I think.”

Haifi, who is also a Dutch Labor Party activist, later removed the message, writing the non-apology, “I realize the political sensitivity in connection with my work. That was not my intention.”

On Thursday, the Dutch conspiracy theorist was suspended from both the Ministry of Security and Justice and the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security. They released a joint statement

Security and Justice and the NCTV distance themselves from her remarks,” the government said in a statement quoted by NL Times. “And since [the comment] relates to the work of the NCTV and the National Cyber Security Center, cause is shown to terminate her assignment NCSC/NCTV and outsource her work with immediate effect.

Last week, a video surfaced showing a pro-Islamic State rally in Holland, in which Muslims were flying the flag of the terror group and chanting, “Death to the Jews!” in Arabic.
