Report: ISIS Militants Killed Two Iraqi Journalists In Past Four Days

Reports indicate ISIS militants killed two Iraqi journalists in past four days.

The journalists were Mohanad al-Akidi and Raad Mohamed al-Azzawi.

BBC News reports that Mr. Akidi was a “correspondent for the Sada news agency in the [ISIS] held northern Iraq city of Mosul.” He was shot and killed on October 13.  Mr. Azzawi was “a cameraman for Sama Salah Aldeen TV.” ISIS militants beheaded him in the city of Samarra after holding him captive for a month.

The news of these murders comes as other journalists have already fled large portions of Iraq and Syria to avoid being captured by ISIS.

On August 19 ISIS released a video showing the beheading of American journalist James Foley. Subsequent with the release of the video of Foley’s beheading, Breitbart News reported that ISIS also released a video message to Americans which said, “We will drown all of you in blood.”

Reuters reported that “the video was uploaded to a social media website” with the hashtag “#AmessagefromISIStoUS.”

On September 2 Military.com reported on a ISIS video showing the beheading of a second American journalist, Steven Sotloff.  And ABC News reports that ISIS has beheaded British and French captives since then.
