Dodgers' Beckett Pitches No-Hitter

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ Josh Beckett has pitched a no-hitter against the Philadelphia Phillies, the first of the season for any Major League Baseball team, and the Dodgers’ first no-hitter since 1996. Beckett pitched a 6-0 shutout, giving up only two walks and retiring 23 batters in a row. It was the first no-hitter of his career.

The Dodgers opened the scoring in the first inning and never looked back, notching 11 hits against the Phillies. They are still several games behind the San Francisco Giants in the National League West division.
