'Scandal': Obama Appointee to Host Big Money Hollywood Fundraiser

Deadline reports that less than 10 months after President Obama appointed her to the Board of Trustees for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Shonda Rhimes will return the favor in July with $32,4000 a ticket fundraiser at Rhimes’ Hollywood home.

Rhimes, who is also the executive producer of the hit television series “Scandal,” has tapped series star Kerry Washington to join the hosting committee:

Tickets for the late July event range from $1,000 to the more than $30,000 for high rollers. Patrons who pay out the top price will not only get entertained by a yet nnamed musical act and get their pic with POTUS but also participate in an up close and personal dinner the Fundraiser-In-Chief will have with 30 couples. “This type of thing has proven a real winner for the President and the party and Hollywood loves getting close to him” said a Tinseltown politico.

This will be the president’s 18th Hollywood fundraiser since taking office.
