Tech Companies to Play Big Role in Clinton's 2016 Campaign

Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, writing for the San Francisco Chronicle, notes that presumptive 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton visited the San Francisco area with her aides last week to hit up tech companies for cash and technical advice for the 2016 election.

Brown asserts that Clinton also wants to cement her connections with the companies so no other presidential contender in her party sneaks in and gains a foothold.

According to the former mayor, “Clinton will need some special weapons in her arsenal to fight off the billions of dollars that Republicans will throw into the 2016 presidential race, and… tech companies could be a big player in reaching voters outside the usual channels.”

Brown backed his assertion by writing that one of Clinton’s aides alerted him to tech companies such as Google and others in the Silicon Valley which have only recently hired operatives from Washington, D.C., who will help them with their involvement in political affairs.
