Is 'Climate Change' The Real Reason We Couldn't Find Flight 370?

Is 'Climate Change' The Real Reason We Couldn't Find Flight 370?

The answer to that one is a big “no” by the way, but that certainly hasn’t stopped the usual green suspects trying to shoehorn the Malaysian tragedy into their grand universal theory of everything.

Here’s how an enterprising environmental reporter has managed it at Mother Jones:

Scientists say man-made climate change has fundamentally altered the currents of the vast, deep oceans where investigators are currently scouring for the missing Malaysian Airlines flight, setting a complex stage for the ongoing search for MH370. If the Boeing 777 did plunge into the ocean somewhere in the vicinity of where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean, the location where its debris finally ends up, if found at all, may be vastly different from where investigators could have anticipated 30 years ago.

Possibly there’s a bait and switch operation going on here. None of the three scientists quoted in the article makes mention of plane debris: they just talk about the changing nature of recent patterns in the Southern Oceans which, almost inevitably, they ascribe to man-made climate change and which they insist is a cause for great concern.

Steve Rintoul, of Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), is quoted as saying: “And it looks like that’s largely due to human activities, but not justgreenhouse gases. Both the ozone hole and greenhouse gases are workingtogether to change the winds over the Southern Ocean.”

Matthew England, joint director of Climate Change Research Centre at the University of New South Wales, says: “It can also affect the temperatures off the Antarctic ice shelf, which is a real worry.”

What’s interesting about the Mother Jones article is not what it tells us about the state of scientific understanding – zilch – but about how devilishly ingenious the environmental movement is at promulgating the “man-made global warming” meme long past its natural life span.

Yesterday, Breitbart London reported wonderingly on a piece by Guardian journalist Nick Cohen (“Climate Change as certain as Auschwitz”). How could an intelligent writer like Cohen seriously compare “denial” of the Holocaust (in which six million or more real people are known to have perished) with scepticism about man-made global warming (for which there is no evidence it has killed anyone)?

The short answer is that if the only thing you read is left-wing blogosphere and the liberal mainstream media this green mantra is the only version of events you’re ever going to get: EVERYTHING is the result of man-made climate change, from drowning polar bears to vanished Malaysian airliners.

And lest you doubt it, here is the full list…
