Report: Chip Kelly Staying at Oregon

Oregon head coach Chip Kelly, one of the hottest NFL coaching prospects, will return to Oregon next season.

ESPN reported Kelly will turn down his NFL suitors — like the Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills — and return to Oregon and aim for a fifth-straight BCS Bowl appearance.

Oregon defeated Kansas State 35-17 at the Fiesta Bowl last week.

Kelly will have two of the country’s premiere college football talents — De’Anthony Thomas and quarterback Marcus Mariota — returning to run his offense that has been described as “basketball on grass” for its ability to score points quickly — and in bunches.

The Ducks were in line to play in the national championship game this year until Stanford defeated them at Autzen Stadium on November 18. The program may also face looming NCAA sanctions.
