Labrador Fires Spokesperson For 'Me Likey Broke Girls' Super Bowl Tweet

Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID) fired his spokesperson who mistakenly tweeted “Me Likey Broke Girls” from Labrador’s official Twitter account on Sunday, seconds after a racy Super Bowl commercial aired.

The tweet lasted in the Twitterverse for 14 seconds, but the Sunlight Foundation archived the tweet. That was enough for Labrador, a Hispanic Mormon, to fire Phil Hardy, his chief spokesperson.

The tweet from Labrador’s official Twitter account was in response to a Super Bowl commercial for the CBS show “2 Broke Girls,” in which the show’s actresses –  Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs – both danced suggestively around a stripper pole.

According to the Idaho Statesman, Labrador made the call to fire Hardy. Labrador’s district director Jake Ball told the paper that “it was the boss” who fired Hardy on Monday.

“That’s Raul’s call,” Ball said
