Bulls Win by 30 without Rose, who Scrimmaged This Week
Elite NBA point guard, Derrick Rose continued his long road to recovery from a torn ACL this week by participating in five-on-five scrimmaging for the first time since his injury.
Friday the Bulls did not need Rose to drub Michael Jordan's Charlotte Bobcats behind Taj Gibson (17 points on 8-of-11), Carlos Boozer (10 points and 10 rebounds) and All-Star Joakim Noah (10 points, eight rebounds and eight assists). However, they will need him to be a contender in the playoffs, as shown by their blow-out home loss to Miami Thursday and probably their trip to Oklahoma City Sunday.
The positive news for the Bulls comes off the heels of comments Rose made regarding possibly missing the entire season, saying he preferred not to come back until he was 110 percent healthy.
Despite a surprising 5th place position in the Easter Conference without Rose, Chicago’s chances of having any success in the playoffs will be limited without the star guard.
According to Rose and teammate Joakim Noah, he still is not dunking which indicates that the playmaker is still a ways off from being ready for game action.
