The Tampa Bay Bucs finished last season 30th in sacks, a hard fall from the Warren Sapp era where a dominant defense made the team one of the most dominant in the league.
Problems for the Bucs have been made worse by underperforming high draft picks Gerald McCoy and Da’Quan Bowers.
Now, Bowers career with the Bucs could be in jeopardy.
Bowers, the former star out of Clemson, was charged this week with second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm after trying to get a .40 caliber handgun on a plane at LaGuardia Airport.
The 2011 Second Round pick may have put his future in doubt with the Bucs who were already shopping for defensive linemen.
With defensive linemen set to perform at the NFL Combine on Monday, Bucs scouts will certainly be on the lookout for fresh talent.
The Bucs will get their first pick of the NFL Draft with the #13 overall selections and will likely target a defensive lineman or defensive back.
