Kobe to Mark Cuban: 'Amnesty THAT'

The Los Angeles Lakers won their third consecutive game since the death of their legendary and iconic owner Dr. Jerry Buss last Monday when they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 103-99 in a crucial battle for playoff positioning in the Western Conference Sunday afternoon at Dallas.

After the game, Bryant took to his twitter account to tweet to Dallas owner Mark Cuban, “Amnesty THAT.” Bryant’s comments were in reference to Cuban’s suggestion the Lakers should “amnesty” Bryant’s contract, which would allow the team to terminate his contract without taking a salary cap hit.

The Lakers and Mavericks came into the game tied in the loss column with 29 losses, two behind Houston, the team that holds the eight and final playoff spot.

Kobe Bryant, who guaranteed the Lakers would make the playoffs and compete, sizzled in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 points in the quarter. He scored 38 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had seven assists in the game.

“It’s a big win for us,” Bryant said after the game. “We struggled on the road early on.”

Every win is a big win for the Lakers this time of year, a sentiment reflected in what Bryant said right after describing the game’s significance.

“We have a tough one tomorrow in Denver,” Bryant said.

Indeed, for these Lakers, every game is a playoff game, and that is the mindset the Lakers seem to have.
