Rangers Player Misses Spring Training Game Due to Tattoo Soreness
Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus had to sit out Thursday's Spring Training game because his arm was too sore from a tattoo he had gotten.
“It’s on fire,” said Andrus, who got a tattoo that took nine hours to complete as a tribute to his late father. “No more tattoos.”
Andrus could not move his arm to even throw because of soreness, and Rangers manager Ron Washington said the team may have to prohibit players from getting tattoos in the offseason "if this is what it does to you."
Andrus is expected to play for Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic this weekend. The Rangers play their Spring Training games in Surprise, Arizona.
