Davidson Dominates in SoCon Championship Victory

The Wildcats barely scraped out a 3-point victory in their semifinal match-up against Appalachian State, but if there were any doubts about Davidson after that game they were answered with Monday night’s performance. Davidson began the SoCon Tournament championship game against College of Charleston with a 7-0 run and never looked back, winning 74-55 and earning their 12th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Four of Davidson’s five starters scored double-digits in tonight’s game, with Junior forward De’Mon Brooks leading all scorers. Brooks turned in a dominating performance for the Wildcats, scoring 24 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.

Having officially punched their ticket for the Big Dance, the Davidson Wildcats will eagerly await Selection Sunday, where they will learn who they will face in the first round. Davidson will most likely be seeded in the 12-16 range and will hope to improve on their magical run of 2008 when the Stephen Curry-led Wildcats reached the Elite Eight.

Value Add ranked Curry as one of the top five players in the country during that 2008 season and the 2009 season. While they do not have any players at that level this year, Value Add rates 6-foot-10 center Jake Cohen in the top 4% of all players this season.
