The college football playoff system that will take place in 2014 will not be called the AT&T College Football Playoffs or the Samsung College Football Playoffs.
When the college playoff system logo and name are revealed next month in Pasadena, California, they will not have a corporate title sponsor.
The individual bowl games--such as the Rose Bowl, presented by Vizio and the Discover Orange Bowl--that will make up the playoffs will still have corporate title sponsors, but the playoff system as a whole will not.
For instance, if the semifinal game is held at the Orange Bowl, Executive Director Bill Hancock said the game will be referred to as something along the lines of "The Football Tournament Semifinal at the Discover Orange Bowl."
Hancock told ESPN on Tuesday, "The Final Four doesn't have one. The Masters doesn't. The Super Bowl. That's the kind of event we have."
