Mavs Owner Cuban: I'd Draft Brittney Griner

Mark Cuban, the eccentric and controversial owner of the Dallas Mavericks, said Tuesday night that he would consider adding dominant female Baylor star Brittney Griner to his basketball team.

"If she is the best on the board, I will take her," Cuban said. "I've thought about it. I've thought about it already. Would I do it? Right now, I'd lean toward yes, just to see if she can do it. You never know unless you give somebody a chance, and it's not like the likelihood of any late-50s draft pick has a good chance of making it."

Cuban said that Griner could also get an invite to try out. Having Griner on the Summer League team would no doubt be an interesting and effective marketing tool for the attention-grabbing owner.

Griner, arguably one of the most dominant player to ever play women's college basketball, scored 3,283 points over the course of her career and blocked 748 shots. She dunked the ball 18 times, and she dominated the competition. To put this in perspective, players not named Griner have dunked a combined 15 times in the history of the sport. Her Lady Bears, however, recently fell to Louisville in a shocking defeat in the NCAA Tournament.
