The New York Jets released quarterback Tim Tebow on Monday after drafting quarterback Geno Smith out of West Virginia last week, according to a New York Post report.
The Jets, with quarterbacks Smith, Mark Sanchez, Greg McElroy, and David Garrard, now have a plethora of quarterbacks and could not afford to carry a quarterback on the roster they felt was not a part of their future plans.
It is uncertain which team–if any–will sign Tebow, a quarterback who apparently improved his footwork and mechanics in the offseason.
