Angels Owner: Scioscia Safe

Despite a high priced roster and a second-worst in AL record, Angels manager Mike Scioscia has nothing to worry about according to owner Arte Moreno.

Declaring that Scioscia has "zero problems," Moreno pointed to a 14-year track record of success and denied rumors of concern that Scioscia could wind up with the crosstown Dodgers in an interview with FoxSports.com.

The news has to come as a relief for Scioscia who was feeling his seat heat up after a 15-24 start. However, even the support from Moreno could mean little if the Angels continue to underperform. Even as he attempted to assure all that his manager was here to stay, Moreno used a caveat when asked what the chances of a mid-season change were. "Right now, zero," he said.

The struggles of the Angels and Dodgers continue to be among the major stories of the still young MLB season. Both clubs were expected to be contenders and have certainly spent enough money to expect better results.

"This is his 14th year. Mike goes beyond what he does on the field. He's a good person. He's a good person in the community. A very good baseball guy. You don't have to ask me. You just ask other managers, other baseball people," Moreno said. "Look at 14 years' worth of productivity. Look at his record. He has two World Series rings with the Dodgers. He has one with the Angels. We've been to the playoffs."
