Pro-Gay Marriage Kicker Kluwe Lands NFL Job in CA's Bay Area

When Chris Kluwe was released from the Vikings, those on the political left shrieked foul, claiming that the punter was let go because of his outspoken activism in favor of gay marriage. Now, he has landed an NFL job with the Oakland Raiders.

A self-described libertarian, Kluwe has never been shy about sharing his opinion and has already pledged that he will attempt to change the California law defining marriage between a man and a woman. He is a native of Southern California and will be in a region of the state that has been more than receptive to gay people.

Though waived due to not being up to par for the Vikings, Kluwe will attempt to replace one of the NFL’s all-time elite punters in Shane Lechler who signed with the Texans this offseason. He will also have a platform to express his political views on the front lines in the debate over gay marriage.
