San Jose Gets Back in Series with OT Win

The Los Angeles Kings entered the evening hoping to go up 3-0 and put the series out of reach for the Sharks. It did not work out the way the team had originally hoped.

As the defending Stanley Cup champs, the Kings had overcome solid performances from the Sharks to take a 2-0 lead.

Early in the first period, the Sharks were able to get the first goal of the night when Dan Boyle got the puck past Kings’ goalie Jonathan Quick.

However, it did not take long in the first period for the Kings to tie up the score. Tyler Toffoli scored the goal for Los Angeles.

For the next two periods, the game there were no additional goals, yet it was the Sharks who had a 32-22 lead in shots on goal. The game would go to overtime 1-1.

In overtime, the Kings began two men down due to penalties and it only took about one minute and a half for the Sharks to take advantage as Logan Couture scored the game winning overtime goal for San Jose.

The win puts the Sharks back in contention as the series is now 2-1 with Game 4 set to be played Tuesday night in San Jose.
