Jack Nicklaus: Tiger-Sergio Feud 'Stupid'

On Wednesday, Jack Nicklaus said the feud between Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods was “stupid” and it was time for the two golfers to “move on.”

“The Sergio-Tiger thing, I mean it’s stupid,” Nicklaus said, according to ESPN. “I mean … do guys have an issue with one another? They usually resolve it themselves. You guys want to resolve it in the newspapers today. Nobody needs that. And I think they both finally said it’s enough. Let’s move on.”

Garcia and Woods have never liked the other, but their feud intensified at the Players Championship. It got nasty when Garcia later joked that he would serve the world’s top-ranked golfer “fried chicken” if he ever had him over for dinner.

Nicklaus made his comments before the Memorial Tournament, which he hosts. Woods had earlier said he was also “done” with dealing with Garcia when asked if they would be speaking in two weeks at the U.S. Open.
