Report: Tebow Tried to Break Up Hernandez Bar Fight in College

Aaron Hernandez decided to go to Florida after developing a friendship with Tim Tebow, and the Heisman Trophy winner tried to break up a violent bar fight in 2007 while both were attending Florida.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Gainseville police records show that, “Hernandez, then a 17-year-old freshman, punched a bouncer in the head causing a broken ear drum on April 28, 2007.”

An officer who arrived at the scene wrote “Tebow stated that he witnessed the dispute … Tebow stated that he went over to try to help resolve the conflict.”

Police found Hernandez two hours later and wrote that he was, “very polite and professional.”

Officers decided not to pursue charges after Florida coaches reportedly said they would handle the matter internally.

Hernandez pled not guilty last week to the first-degree murder of Odin Lloyd and is currently in jail awaiting trial after having been denied bail twice.
