Puig 'Day-to-Day' After Leaving Game in Dodgers Win with Bruised Hip

Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig crashed into the right field wall in bottom of the fifth inning and eventually left the game with a bruised hit in the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-8 victory Wednesday over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

X-rays were reportedly negative and Puig is listed as day to day.

Earlier in the day, Puig became the first player ever to win the the National League Player of the Month award in his first month in the league. After a torrid June, Puig also won the Rookie of the Month award, making him only the fifth player in history to win both awards in a month.

Puig scored from second base on a groundout to first base. He then promptly crashed into the right field wall while making an incredible catch. Puig was down for several minutes, then stayed in the game to hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the 6th inning before being taken out for precautionary reasons.

The Dodgers became the last Major League team to score 10 runs this season and have won 10 of 11 and are 2.5 games out of first place in the National League West.
