For the first time in Solheim Cup history, the Europeans are leaving America with the trophy.

Caroline Hedwall became the first player in the 23-year history of the event to win all five matches. She finished in style Sunday by hitting her approach into the 18th to 4 feet for birdie. That gave her a 1-up victory over Michelle Wie and gave Europe the 14 points it needed to retain the cup.

With seven matches will on the course, Europe only needed a half-point to claim outright victory on American soil for the first time. Europe was leading in three of those matches.
