Saban: I'm 'Too Damn Old' to Start Over Somewhere Else

Alabama head coach Nick Saban, who put himself on the Mount Rushmore of college football coaches along with John McKay, Frank Leahy, and Bear Bryant after he arrived in Tuscaloosa, said on Monday that he simply is “too damn old” to start somewhere else.

Saban made his comments after a report surfaced that indicated his agent spoke a regent at the University of Texas about Saban’s interest in coaching Texas. The meeting between Saban’s agent and the Texas regent came the BCS title game last January, when Alabama demolished Notre Dame en route to their back-to-back titles.

“Every year it’s something. Last year it was the Cleveland Browns,” Saban said. “The year before that it was somebody else, the NFL. Terry and I are very happy here in Tuscaloosa. We’re really love the University of Alabama. We really feel like a part of the community here and we have a lot of good friends here.”

At Alabama, Saban has built a dynasty that may go down as one of college football’s best. Alabama beat Texas A&M last week and is the No. 1 team in the country as they go for a three-peat.
