Arkansas AD to Chair College Football Selection Committee
The man who hired Bobby Petrino is set to chair the playoff selection committee. Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long was officially announced as the chairman on Monday.
Long will lead a committee that includes former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Archie Manning, and others. Previously, the new committee chairman worked at Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, and Pittsburgh.
USC's Pat Haden and Wisconsin's Barry Alvarez are other athletic directors already named to the committee. Long has had an interesting few years at Arkansas after firing Bobby Petrino and hiring a high profile replacement this last offseason in Bret Bielema, who has struggled thus far after coming over from Wisconsin.
