Boston Mayor Hopes for 'World Series Cup'

Boston Mayor Tom Menino said he hoped the Boston Red Sox would bring home the “World Series cup.”

Menino has a history of sports blunders. He referred to New England Patriots player Vince Wilfork as “Wilcock.” He has called Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski “Gonk” and referred to former Patriots player Wes Welker as “Wes Weckler.”

Menino also has referred to Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo as “Hondo” and said former Boston Red Sox catcher Jason Veritek had “split the  uprights” to win the Super Bowl when in fact it was former Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri who kicked the game-winning field goal in 2002.
