Report: A-Rod Tested Postive for Banned Substance in '06
Embattled New York Yankees slugger reportedly tested positive for a banned stimulant during the 2006 season.
The New York Times reported on Sunday that "Rodriguez, who has admitted previously to using illegal performance-enhancing drugs from 2001 through 2003 and denied using them since, tested positive for a banned stimulant in 2006, his third season with the Yankees. Rodriguez didn’t face discipline because a player must test positive for stimulants twice before his name becomes public."
A Rodriguez spokesperson denied the allegation.
As the New York Post notes, Rodriguez "is appealing a 211-game suspension for using multiple illegal PEDs on multiple occasions. The hearing will resume Nov. 18 at MLB’s Park Avenue headquarters"
