Big Papi Received Most Write-in Votes in Boston's Mayoral Election

In Tuesday’s mayoral election in Boston, David “Big Papi” Ortiz, the Boston Red Sox slugger who won the Most Valuable Player award in the World Series, received the most write-in votes.

Ortiz, who helped the Red Sox win their third World Series in 10 years, reportedly received 560 write-in votes.

Marty Walsh, who won the election, has been described as a “longtime labor leader.”
