Ryan Braun: I Made 'Big Mistake' Saying I'd 'Bet My Life' PEDs Never Entered Body

On Wednesday, disgraced MLB player Ryan Braun, who admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs after defiantly denying it at a press conference in 2012, said that press conference was “a big mistake.”

“I wish that I hadn’t done the press conference,” Braun told ESPN. “It was a big mistake. I deeply regret having done it, and a lot of the things that I said that day.”

At that press conference after he won his appeal with Major League Baseball on a technicality, Braun said that he “won because the truth is on my side” and that he would “bet my life that this substance never entered my body at any point.”

In July, after his name surfaced in a Biogenesis investigation, “Braun admitted that he violated baseball’s drug policy and accepted his suspension without pay for the remainder of the season.” The suspension amounted to 65 games. Braun’s press conference that he regrets is below.
