Braves Legend Chipper Jones Rescues Ex-Teammate on Four-Wheeler in Atlanta Snowstorm

Atlanta Braves legend Chipper Jones, who retired after the 2012 season, saved former teammate and current Atlanta Braves slugger Freddie Freeman on Tuesday on a four-wheeler while Freeman was stranded on the roads because of the freakish snowstorm that paralyzed Atlanta and much of the South.

Jones found out through Twitter that Freeman, who ultimately had to park his car, was stranded in traffic and went to the rescue.

Jones’ girlfriend tweeted that she was thinking about sending Jones on rescue runs and that Freeman was first. Thanks to Jones, Freeman got home after eleven hours on the road and Jones tweeted that Freeman “hugged me the whole way home!” Freeman had been stranded due to the severe snowstorm that paralyzed the South. Motorists were stranded for 17 hours while children were stuck on school buses and at schools. Others abandoned their cars and crowded into grocery stores and Home Depots to spend the night.
