Richard Sherman Tells Breitbart Sports Why Players Love Pete Carroll

ESPN asked NFL players which coach they would most want to play for. Nearly one in four players chose Pete Carroll of the Seattle Seahawks. The former USC head honcho ran away with the balloting, besting the support of the runner-up (Mike Tomlin) and third-place finisher (John Fox) combined. Other coaches winning a significant percentage of the vote include Rex Ryan, Bill Belichick, Andy Reid, and Sean Payton.

More Phil Jackson than Vince Lombardi, Carroll blasted music and dispensed with pads for practice on Wednesday. He parried a media query on running back Marshawn Lynch’s failure to fulfill press availability requirements by saying that the phenomenon known as Richard Sherman more than makes up for it. Carroll remarked, “We celebrate the uniqueness and individuality of our guys.”

That's not very Woody Hayes of him, is it?

Breitbart Sports caught up with Carroll’s best player on Wednesday, and asked Richard Sherman why his peers in the league might want to play for his coach. The cornerback characterized Carroll as a “players’ coach” who treats the athletes under his charge as men.
