Jenny Dell, a popular sideline reporter for a Boston television station may have been reassigned to another role because she is dating Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks (pictured being interviewed by Dell).
Middlebrooks tweeted about their relationship on January 2, officially acknowledging it.
NESN spokesman Gary Roy said that the network has “an active search for a Red Sox sideline reporter. Jenny Dell, a multi-talented on-air personality, is anchoring NESN Sports Today and handling other assignments for NESN.”
NESN vice president of programming and production Joseph Maar reportedly said that Dell “would not be part of the Red Sox broadcast team this season.”
Dell has reportedly been in talks with Fox Sports 1, and may have been assigned because of the backlash that came her way after her relationship with Middlebrooks became public even though it was never a well-kept secret.
