Ducks on Wheels: Duck Commander to Sponsor Car Race

The Texas Motor Speedway enjoyed the sponsorship of the National Rifle Association last year. In April, the Fort Worth track will stage a Duck Dynasty-themed race.

Duck Commander, the business of the reality television stars, will serve as the main sponsor for its April 6 race. Dubbed the “Duck Commander 500,” the Sprint Cup race will also feature Uncle Si’s tea, available at its concession stands for parched fans. The track is the second largest in the United States, boasting a possible capacity of 190,000. The stars of the A&E program have attended several NASCAR events in recent years.

“This is perhaps the most unique sponsorship in professional sports because not only does this come with special branding, it comes with celebrity spokespeople that are followed by tens of millions of people every week,” explained Eddie Gossage, president of the Texas Motor Speedway president to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “Fans will see members of the Robertson Family and cast of Duck Dynasty and all the rest during Duck Commander 500 week. This marriage is perfection.”
