On Friday night, Delino DeShields Jr., the son of the former baseball player, was hit with a 90 mph fastball in the face and suffered a broken cheek bone.
According to MLB Talk 101, he was hit in the face while playing for the Houston Astros AA affiliate Corpus Christi Hooks.
The photo below, which was released by his friend, shows how lucky he is to have just suffered a broken cheek bone and nothing more.
Shoutout to my brother for taking a 90mph fastball to the face like a champ. Looking good Delilah @LinoDeShields pic.twitter.com/Gy1kGakEKE
