Former NBA Player Jalen Rose: I 'Wouldn't Be Playing' for Sterling in Playoffs if I Were on Clippers

Former NBA player and ABC analyst Jalen Rose said that if he were on the Clippers, he would not play in Sunday’s playoff game against the Golden State Warriors to protest owner Donald Sterling’s racist comments.

Rose said during halftime of the nationally televised Bulls-Wizards playoff game: “I’m not gonna lie to you guys… but I wouldn’t be playing for that guy today. Literally.”

The Clippers reportedly considered boycotting in protest but decided to play for each other.

Rose said he changed his mind on the matter after an extended version of the audio tape that purportedly has Sterling telling his girlfriend not to bring black people to his games surfaced in which Sterling says he feel the way he does about black players because he gives them food, clothes and cars. Rose said Sterling was talking about black basketball players as if they were his dogs.
