Oprah, Larry Ellison, David Geffen Interested in Buying Clippers

The Clippers are not for sale yet, but that has not stopped celebrities and moguls from declaring their interest in purchasing the team.

Oprah Winfrey, David Geffen, and Larry Ellison are the latest partners to express interest in buying the team if the NBA  forces Clippers owner Donald Sterling to sell the team after banning him for life on Tuesday.

“Oprah Winfrey is in discussions with David Geffen and Larry Ellison to make a bid for the Los Angeles Clippers should the team become available,” said her spokesperson Nicole Nichols.

Geffen told ESPN on Wednesday that the Clippers deserve “a better group of owners who want to win,”

“Larry would sooner die than fail. I would sooner die than fail. Larry’s a sportsman,” he said. “We’ve talked about this for a long time. Between the three of us, we have a good shot.”
