Former NFL QB Competes on 'The Biggest Loser'

Scott Mitchell looks like he ate Wayne Fontes. The former Detroit Lions quarterback competes on NBC’s Biggest Loser this season. He weighs in at 366 pounds, 33 pounds heavier than the largest lineman on the current Lions roster.

Mitchell faces some soft competition.

The sports-themed season features 483-pound Rob Guiry, the head rugby coach at Western New England University, 283-pound physical education teacher Sonya Jones, and 366-pound Vanessa Hayden, who, until four years ago, occupied a roster spot in the WNBA.

They all let themselves go. Now they’re looking to let the pounds go.

Damien Woody, who won two Super Bowls with the Patriots and now analyzes the NFL for ESPN, tips the scales at 388. That’s just 58 pounds over his playing weight, so dropping a large number of pounds might come harder for the former lineman than it does for his fellow competitors.

The season premieres on September 11.
