Report: New Clippers Owner Steve Ballmer, Wife Have Spent $600K Backing Gun Control
Steve Ballmer, who officially became the new Los Angeles Clippers owner on Tuesday, and his wife have donated $600,000 to a Washington state gun-control initiative.
According to SeattlePi, Ballmer and his wife Connie recently gave another $250,000 to the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility, which is backing Initiative 594. The campaign reportedly has raised $3.4 million.
The group was reportedly formed after the Newtown massacre, and the "initiative would require criminal background checks for those purchasing firearms at gun shows and online." The NRA opposes the measure.
Ballmer, a former Microsoft executive, bought the Clippers for $2 billion.
