Breitbart Sports unveils the most comprehensive database of the values of college basketball players available, allowing the reader to access all 4,250 players in Google Docs by clicking on the master scholarship table. For each team you can view the projected Value Add of each player on the current roster, as well as those who graduated or went pro last year, or are scheduled to take the court next year as a freshman or transfer.
The database also lists all “available” transfers and high school seniors at the bottom. Readers are invited to type in corrections or additions in the third column to show if an available player signed with a particular team. High School players with less than three stars from recruiting services, and other players who do not top a 0.00 Value Add, are often not listed.
The Value Add database of all players from 2003 through 2014 is a rating best explained by Sports Illustrated in this piece, and lauded by ESPN. A player’s Value Add indicates how many points a player improves his team’s scoring margin over if a good High Major bench player took his place.
While Value Add is a PRECISE measure of the player’s PAST value, the projections are simply a rough estimate of future performance based on the average improvement a player makes after his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. This was based on a study of 2,629 players in the Value Add database that played four seasons with the same school sometime between the 2003 and 2014 season.

Players are never projected to improve more than 2.50 based on this table, but players who have been rated as NBA prospects can receive an alternate minimum projected Value Add based on their percent chance of making the NBA (also estimated in the database).
