Steelers RB: I Didn't Know You Could Get a DUI for Being High

The police report on Pittsburgh Steelers running backs LeGarrette Blount and Le’Veon Bell describes docile, doltish arrestees. Pot can have that effect on a man.

“I didn’t know you could get a DUI for being high,” the police report alleges that Bell told a cop on Wednesday night. “I smoked two hoursago. I’m not high anymore.”

Does not the first line contradict the last?

The arresting officer noted of Le’Veon Bell that his “eyes were red and glassy and his pupils were dilated.” Readers of the police report kind of figured as much after reading: “I didn’t know you get a DUI for being high.” The police call that a clue.

Despite the arrests, Bell started Thursday’s game against the Eagles and Blount rushed for 32 yards on seven carries.

“I’m perfectly fine,” Bell allegedly asserted to the policeman.

That’s what Steelers coach Mike Tomlin asked, too.
